Artist's Comments

Location : Cimetière du Père-Lachaise, Paris
Time : March 2005
Camera : Canon

The story : There's not actual story, but just that I seem to have a thing with the stones and cemeteries. What saddens my heart that although being known and famous graveyard, it helds so much sorrow in the sense of broken and forgotten tombs. It is like walking in lonely area, where no one cares. And as with many other things in this city - no one does not care. Just back at that day I saw some youngsters breaking a tomb, laughing and then running away. All I can do is capture the emmory of once was there ...

Oh my god! You're not dead! Anyway, If I had money I'd love a print of this.

Good to see you submitting something again, missed seeing new pictures from you here in DA.

It's been too long since we've had you here, Ghostie. Finally, something new I can fave! Hmm. . .and I can think of some similar things I've seen. It's sad to see such disrespect for the dead, seeing as we will all undoubtedly join them, sooner or later. Hmm. . .methinks I feel an idea coming on.

Ado has an idea ? Good, i cannot wait. I shall post some more on Le Phorum's side too. Maybe here some Opéra, but ... in this city are many cemeteries and I have been thinking to visit some more to capture such sorrow.

Yes, and I believe I'll do the same, if I can get out before the storms hit.

Hey there, OG! It's good to hear from you!

Ah. Lovely shot. It really makes me sad - particularly because of the caption.

It's really a shame that these things should happen. :( I can't help but think of those who rest underneath these broken tombs, wonder how were their lives and how they expected to spend the aftermath. Surely not like this! Well, crappy, unexpected things happen during life, so it isn't really a surprise that they keep happening after we're done with it as well.
